What you won't see on screen...
May 21st at 8 p.m. is the big day. Tranche de bois will make its official debut on Dans l'œil du dragon, and we still can't believe it.
When we sent our application, it was a bit of a "just-see" thing. And then, step by step, we moved forward... still incredulous, but still motivated. Until we found ourselves, months later, packing our suitcase for Montreal .
The day before filming, we left Chicoutimi by car. In our hotel room, between fits of nervous laughter, we rehearsed our pitch over and over again. We're pretty sure our neighbors knew it as well as we did!
The behind the scenes of our preparation
Once there, everything happened at the Maison de Radio-Canada: dressing, makeup, setting up the kiosk, moving to the set... Everything was meticulously planned. It was our first time on a TV set, and we let ourselves be carried away by the energy, the kind looks of the team, the last-minute adjustments. The pressure was real. We wanted to give it our all, without filter.
And then... the long-awaited moment. The cameras. The spotlights. The dragons.
We had the chance to chat with Isabelle Chevalier, George Karam, Anne Martel, Luc Poirier, and David Côté . These inspiring personalities welcomed us with openness. A special mention goes to Isabelle, who put us at ease from the very first seconds. The stress turned into real conversation. And that's precious.
A look back (and a big step forward)
Participating in this show was also an opportunity for us to take stock of how far we've come. In four years, we built Tranche de bois together, using scraps, a lot of hard work... and passion. This adventure at L'œil du dragon is like the cherry on top. A milestone in our journey as a Quebec company committed to eco-design.
